YES! The Nurtured Heart Approach is so different that one of the first things we discuss in the seminar or in counseling is how it is different and why traditional parenting and child management techniques can actually make things worse instead of better.
As a parent of a highly intense child, I had the same question about the Nurtured Heart Approach. My answer was in the results that I got when using this approach. Within hours (yes, hours!) my child’s behavior began to change. Since then, my own frustration and sadness about my child’s behavior have been transformed into pride and joy!
One of the most important aspects of a parenting approach, in my opinion, is whether or not it can be applied easily in nearly every situation. Of all the parenting techniques I have researched or studied, the Nurtured Heart Approach is one of the easiest to learn. After taking the first seminar I was able to use the Nurtured Heart Approach with success right away. After a few short weeks of practice, it became second nature to me.
As part of the Nurtured Heart Approach training, parents will learn how to transfer the positive effects of the Nurtured Heart Approach to the school setting whether or not teachers learn this approach. Teachers who learn this approach report more on-task behavior, fewer disruptions and higher levels of achievement and attendance!
Even though it sounded too good to be true, I had nothing to lose but my child’s difficult behavior so I took the chance and went to the first seminar. Since then I have been using it effectively in my own home and in my clinical practice I have seen hundreds of families transformed through use of the NHA techniques.
I will have them for sale at all seminars and office locations or you can go to www.difficultchild.com to order the book.
